Financial Literacy is the ability to understand how money works. Food literacy is the ability of an individual to understand food in a way that they develop a positive relationship with it, including food skills and practices across the lifespan in order to navigate, engage, and participate within a complex food system. Nutrition literacy is the ability to access, understand, evaluate, and communicate nutrition-related information as a way to promote, maintain and improve health in a variety of settings across the lifespan.

Farm to School efforts link classrooms, cafeterias, and communities so children develop practical skills and increase their literacy in these important areas that will serve them across their lifespan.
