Display of Flags and Banners on Public School Property

Idaho Code section 33-143 requires the Department of Education to oversee the enforcement of the law relating to displays of flags and banners on public school property, effective July 1, 2025.

The House Bill H41 guidance document provides direction to local education agencies to help ensure understanding of and compliance with the law.

Concerned students, parents, or community members must complete the complaint form prior to the Department undertaking an investigation. The completed form should be submitted to schooldisplays@sde.idaho.gov.
