Idaho schools have much to be proud of! For example, Idaho students scored higher than the national average on the ACT. They also outperform their peers in many states as shown in the Nation's Report Card. We're proud of our students, our teachers and these results!
Fall Idaho Reading Indicator (IRI) results for 2019 highlight student achievement
The percentage of students testing at grade level increased in fall 2019, an encouraging sign for Idaho children’s reading readiness. The percentages of students reading at grade level rose from 43 percent to 49 percent in first grade, from 60 percent to 63 percent in second grade, and from 61 percent to 64 percent in third grade.

Idaho’s latest scores in the National Assessment for Education Progress (NAEP) provide encouraging news as the state continues work to improve student performance in reading and mathematics. NAEP measures what U.S. students in grades 4 and 8 know and can do in every state, and Idaho students performed better than the national average in all four tested cohorts.

Idaho high school students did very well on the ACT, scoring higher than most students nationwide! The ACT assesses students’ college readiness based on meeting benchmarks in four subjects: English, math, reading and science.
