GEAR UP Idaho is phasing out services offered on college campuses around the state. If you are a GEAR UP 2 student in college you still have access to supports. If you have questions about college enrollment, the GEAR UP Scholarship, or if you need help navigating the college process please contact GEAR UP Idaho state staff, Jacque Deal for assistance.
GEAR UP Scholarship Deadline
The GEAR UP Scholarship Deadline is MARCH 1 of every year. For more information or to apply or re-apply visit the Idaho Board of Education website. May sure you apply or renew by this deadline to receive scholarship funding for the following school year.

Give back to GEAR UP!
GEAR UP Idaho has placed a great emphasis on giving back to the community through Service Learning. GU that are currently attending college or have graduated college can give back to GEAR UP by assisting on college campus tours or returning to high schools to share your knowledge and experience with college so far.
GEAR UP Idaho was recently awarded funding for the GEAR UP Idaho 3 program which means we have a new group of 5,000 junior and senior high students who are learning to become college ready and who are eager to learn from your experiences.
There are two ways that you can help give back to GEAR UP:
- Alumni Contact List - EVERYONE SHOULD SIGN UP!
Sign up to receive updates and scholarship reminders as well as learn about opportunities to assist on college visits when younger GEAR UP students are on your campus.
- Ambassador Program
Current GEAR UP college students can apply to be a part of the Ambassador Program. GEAR UP ambassadors will be placed at a school where they will assist the GEAR UP coordinator with various activities. The activities can vary depending on the school, but some examples include: joining a GEAR UP school on a campus tour, joining students for lunch on campus, talking to students about their college experience, planning activities, and helping at parent nights or other events. Becoming a GEAR UP Ambassador is an incredible opportunity to give back while building your resume.
