Idaho Department of Education

The Idaho Department of Education does not regulate or authorize private schools in the state. The Idaho Department of Education Federal Programs team provides assistance to private schools regarding available federal funding for the schools and assistance in meeting the requirements related to the federal programs.

The Idaho Department of Education does work with Idaho’s Department of Health and Welfare to ensure residential schools are completing the accreditation requirements.

The first contact should be with the administrator of the school. If the concern is not resolved at that level then contact with the school’s board should be made.

No, at this time the state of Idaho does not provide assistance for private schools.

Please contact Victoria Martinez at vmartinez@sde.idaho.gov and provide the following information: name of school, non-profit/profit status, grades served, physical address, phone number, website address, and contact information for person making the request. Please include a copy of your initial business filing with the Secretary of State of Idaho.
