The Idaho Mentoring Program provides new teachers in rural remote and rural distant LEAs with a mentor and cohort to reduce attrition and increase student achievement. The program, a partnership between the Idaho Department of Education and the Idaho State Board of Education, serves Idaho-certified, in-service teachers currently practicing in public schools.

Utilizing the Idaho Mentoring Program platform, selected first, second and third-year teacher mentees will be matched with mentors throughout the state, with applicant priority given to mentees in rural remote and rural distant LEAs.

Mentor and mentee matches will be made based on content area, grade level, and specific mentee needs in correlation to mentor experience. Mentees will receive professional development resources and mentoring within a cohort throughout the 2024-2025 school year.
